TDKR Review

Hello, everyone who is reading this blog! So today I will be giving a movie review on "The Dark Knight Rises." I have to say, it was an okay movie. There were some moments that were just kind of "meh" to me, but otherwise, it wasn't that bad of a movie. Basically what it's about is what is going on eight years later from the movie "The Dark Knight." Bruce Wayne hasn't been Batman since his incident with Harvey Dent, also known as "Two-Face", and there is a new villain called "Bane" and Bruce has to defeat him before he destroys the city of Gotham.

I thought that Bane was going to be a huge disappointment, mainly because he was supposed to be a giant South American guy with venom tubes attached to his body, but he wasn't all that bad! They still got him to be a giant guy who was overly strong. Here's a comparison of Bane from the comics and from TDKR:

I've got to say, I'm not a big fan of the weird Semi-Darth-Vader-Mask. It kind of makes sense in the movie, but I just don't like it.

Now for Catwoman. When I first saw the previews, I saw Anne Hathaway as more of as a Selina Kyle than a Catwoman, if that makes any sense. Don't get me wrong! Anne Hathaway is a fantastic actress and I love her movies, but she just didn't look like a Catwoman type of person. Once I saw the movie, however, I thought that she totally got the character! She was sly, sneaky, agile, and just pure Catwoman! Here's a comparison of Catwoman from TDKR and the comics:

Anne Hathaway just made me more of a fan of her's because of this movie.

Well, that's all I have for now! Feel free to comment your review on this movie and follow me. I've got to go. Bye!

Really DC?

Hey, everybody! So I just heard the most outrageous thing on the internet. A couple of days ago on a website called Escher Girls, a woman went to Comic Con to show the editors of DC Comics some of her artwork. One of her drawings was my favorite character, Batwoman. Here's the drawing:

Looks good right? Well apparently DC Editors said that Batwoman looks "fat" in this picture.

You can read all about it at Escher Girls. Now for a few notes:

  1. Okay, her boobs are perfectly fine and she technically doesn't have any powers. She's a female Batman. You don't see the artists drawing him with a big...never mind.
  2. She's wearing a wig. Her hair looks fine and, once again, does not have any super powers.
  3. Her neck only looks long because she is wearing a turtleneck/cape.
  4. Sport's Illustrated?!? Really?!? Since when is eating only salad and dieting pills the "peak of human perfection?" I bet the women in that magazine are even photoshopped to look the way they are! There is no way in heck women actually look like that. Now I know where they got the ideas for characters like Starfire and Catwoman.

I think that's enough ranting for one day. See you all next week. Don't forget to comment, follow, or send me suggestions. Bye!

Battlepug

Hey, everyone! I'm back and just now realized that I'm way past the date that I was planning on blogging on. Crap! Oh, well. Hopefully you all haven't lost interest in this blog, yet. Anyways, as you can see I'm going to be talking about this comic that I discovered a couple of months ago called Battlepug.

Battlepug is an online comic (which you can now buy on the main website for Darkhorse) about a warrior who lost his family when he was a kid and now he is on a quest with a minivan-sized pug, a crazy hermit, and a foul-mouthed princess. This comic is hilarious and I wouldn't suggest it for children ages nine and under mainly because of a few things:

1. The princess has filthy mouth.

2. The woman telling the story is on her bed, naked. Nothing too revealing, only her butt.

3. Some panels can be very violent.

If you do trust your kids to read this, go ahead. My little sister, who is eight, reads it and she thinks that it's awesome, which I agree with. But this is defiantly a must read. If you haven't already read the comic, click on the link below.
